Create the webhook

1. In Slack, add the Incoming Webhooks app to the channel you want alerts in.
2. Copy the webhook URL it gives you — it looks like https://hooks.slack.com/services/T…/B…/….

That URL is a secret: anyone who has it can post to the channel as the webhook.

Add the destination

1. Go to Add destination → Slack.
2. Name it and paste the webhook URL.
3. Save, then click Send test to confirm a message shows up in the channel.

What alerts look like

Each alert is one Slack message: a severity marker, the title, the source and resource it’s about, the detail body, and a line of links back to the incident and the sender’s own view.

Note

Slack can’t edit a message it already sent. Every alert (opened, escalated, resolved, and the rest) posts as its own new message, but an acknowledgement or a manual resolve made elsewhere in InfraInbox has no message of its own to update here — check the dashboard or your phone for the current state. A real resolution (the source itself reporting the problem cleared) still posts its own “resolved” message.

Options

• Send recovery and state updates — off, and this channel is only told when something breaks.
• Enabled — off holds the destination without deleting it.
• Quiet-hours threshold — the severity floor this destination still hears during quiet hours.

Rotating the webhook

Generate a new webhook URL from Slack’s Incoming Webhooks settings and paste it into this destination’s edit form.
